The Story Behind CPTINK O1
The Story Behind CPTINK O1

Hello everyone, I’m Leo, the founder of CPTINK.
Many tattoo artists have been asking me about our new product — the CPTINK O1 — and I thought it would be nice to take some time to explain it in detail, and also share a bit about the ideas and process behind its development.

1. The Meaning of O1

The CPTINK O1 is a fast-charging, adjustable tattoo pen. It’s part of our One Series, an upgraded version of the Captain One.
Some people think “O1” means “zero-one,” but actually, the “O” stands for “One.”
It’s not about starting from zero — it’s about continuing the spirit of the One Series, carrying forward what worked well and refining the details even further.

3. Key Features & Design Details

3.1 Fast Charging and Long Battery Life

The O1 comes with a 2200mAh battery — 200mAh more than the Captain One — and supports 20W PD fast charging, doubling the charging speed.
A quick 5-minute charge gives about 1 hour of working time, and one full battery can last around 8–10 hours.
That means even if you forget to charge it the night before, you can still power up while preparing your station and start your next session without worry.
If you keep two batteries, the spare one can be fully charged in about an hour, so you’ll never have to worry about running out of power.
(Please note: fast-charging mode only works with our PD adapter and cable. The orange double lightning icon indicates fast charge; the yellow single lightning icon means normal charging.)

3.2 Adjustable Stroke — 7 Displayed Levels, 13 in Total

The machine shows seven stroke options (2.3/2.7/3.0/3.4/3.8/4.2/4.5mm),
but in reality, there’s a hidden level between each — for example, between 2.3 and 2.7mm, there’s 2.5mm.
We omitted those in-between values simply because the screen space is limited, but they’re still there for fine adjustment.

3.3 360° Continuous Rotation

The stroke adjustment ring can rotate freely in a full circle.
That’s why you’ll notice some numbers appearing twice — it’s designed this way intentionally.
We wanted this adjustment to feel smooth and engaging, not rigid or mechanical.
The inspiration actually came from the rotating bezel of a watch — something that feels refined and satisfying to turn.
To make it possible, we reworked the internal mechanism and also reduced the rotation noise.

3.4 A Powerful Yet Quiet Motor

The torque of the motor determines how strong and stable a tattoo machine feels — especially stall torque, which affects how the machine performs when the needle meets resistance from the skin.
While most coreless motors have a stall torque of around 100 g.cm, the O1 reaches 380 g.cm, nearly four times stronger.
This gives the machine solid, consistent power throughout the tattooing process.
At the same time, it runs quietly — around 45 dB without a needle and 53 dB with a needle (at 7V, 3.8mm).
We wanted artists to feel the strength of the motor, but without the distraction of noise.

3.5 Two Grip Options

The O1 comes with two interchangeable grips:

  • Large Grip: 40mm width, 263g — stable and solid, ideal for lining.

  • Small Grip: 33mm width, 227g — light and flexible, ideal for shading.

We know every artist has their own style and habits, so we wanted to provide options to match different preferences and working methods.

3.6 Display and Controls

  • Three Memory Presets: Lining(Secant) / Shading / Custom — store your preferred voltage for quick switching.

  • Timer Function: Starts automatically when the machine runs; hold Up + Down to reset.

  • Voltage + Hz Display: Helps you find your ideal rhythm. (Currently, only voltage can be adjusted; frequency control will be available in future next models.)

  • Bluetooth Option: Double-tap the power button to toggle, or hold Power + Up + Down to enter pairing mode.
We’ll soon release a Bluetooth foot pedal that can connect with the O1.

  • Breathing Light Indicators:

    • Blue — working

    • Purple — paused

    • Red — battery below 20%
We kept the light cues subtle, just enough to inform you without being distracting.

3.7 Limited-Edition Fridge Magnet

For the limited set, we included a special fridge magnet — not a simple one, but a two-layer rotating design.
It costs more to make, but we wanted it to have the same character as our machines: small details that bring a bit of joy.
You can stick it on your workstation; when you need a quick break, give it a spin.

4. Closing Thoughts

The CPTINK O1 isn’t a total reinvention — it’s a careful, thoughtful improvement.
From charging speed to torque, from grip balance to display usability, every part was refined with working artists in mind.

We hope that when you hold it in your hand, you’ll feel the care we put into it —
not just as a tool, but as a reliable partner for your creative work.

Thank you.
